Queensland

Lockyer Valley & Bowen

FarmTech Australia is a Queensland-based consortium of commercial growers farming across South East Queensland, the Lockyer Valley, and North Queensland including Bowen. Growing a range of vegetables including broccoli, beans, sweet corn, pumpkin, onions, and capsicums, they supply major retailers and wholesale markets year-round and operate at a scale where the economics of weed management have real consequences.

As a project partner, FarmTech are trialling precision spray, mechanical, and laser weed control technologies across multiple sites and crop types, providing the kind of commercial-scale, multi-region testing that generates evidence relevant to a broad range of Australian growers.

Victoria

Bacchus Marsh

Tripod Farmers is a fourth-generation family farming business based in Bacchus Marsh, Victoria, farming across 1,000 acres on multiple sites in Western Melbourne and Gippsland. They specialise in premium fresh salads and leafy vegetables, supplying major supermarkets and wholesale grocers year-round.

As a project partner, Tripod are trialling laser weed control technologies across babyleaf and lettuce production systems, crops where weed pressure is a significant challenge and the potential to reduce chemical inputs is high.

Their scale, experience, and focus on continuous improvement make them well placed to generate meaningful, commercially relevant data from the trials.
